Phil Eagleson, who was appointed as Deputy Chief on the recommendation of Fire Chief Bruce Fenton, was subsequently appointed Acting Fire Chief when Fenton was away due illness. Fenton, who has been with the Fire Department for almost 30 years, recently underwent treatment for cancer but says that he is now feeling in excellent health. 13/01/2009 04:23 PM |

with the treatments. In fact, I had every intention of going back to
work soon but, apparently, other decisions were made in the interim."ccording to the town's Human Resources personnel, "The
competition goes out across the province and Mr. Eagleson will have to
apply like everyone else". It is anticipated that a replacement Chief
will be hired in the new year. |
