End of Year Showcase of Film

SDSS

The Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre hosted its 2nd Annual  'End of Year Showcase'  of film on Thursday night.

Presented by the Saugeen District Secondary School Communications Club, known as Comm-Tech, the films explored a variety of computer techniques and challenged the students' creativity.

The presentations included unusual graphics incorporating animation and, short movies such as Heist, wove fantasies of dream sequences with reality in a satirical comedic pattern.

Mr. Walker

According to Communications teacher Mr. Walker, "The students put in a lot of hours and they are incredibly creative.  It's very important to have their work shown in a venue like the Museum with state-of-art equipment so that family, friends and the community can see what these students are capable of achieving - which is considerable."

The 2007 - 2008 Awards were:

Best Video Award:  Heist - Evan Wells, Paul Shimoda, Spencer Closs and Tim Curley
Most Appearances by an Actor Award:  Spencer Closs
Best Animation Award:  Metric Coma - Mike Milewski and Ryan Essiembre
Best Foreign Film:  The Poem - Erin Kelly
