Drifting Sands Spa staff are committed to ensuring guests experience a true spa sensation from head to toe.  Their goal is to assist individuals in attaining healthy improvements in their personal appearance by using reliable and effective procedures and the highest standard of products available.

Owned and operated by Dr. David Billings and Dr. Chad Burkhart, the Spa centre, located in Southampton, was designed to meet complete aesthetic needs of today's woman or man.

Dr. David Billings, MD CCFP (EM)

Dr. Billings completed his undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in 1996 and Doctor of Medicine degree in 2000 at Memorial University in Newfoundland.  He then went on to complete the Residency Program of the Canadian College of Family Physicians with an additional year of Certification of Special Competency in Emergency Medicine at Queen's University.  He is a member of the Canadian Medical Association, Ontario Medical Association, Grey Bruce Rural Medical Society, Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians, Canadian College of Family Physicians and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

"This is a wonderful place to raise a family," says Billings, who has two children. "There is also a young physician group here and both my partner, Dr. Burkhardt and I, still work out of the Southampton Clinic and also in the Emergency Department at Southampton's hospital.   With regard to the Breakwater Laser Medical in the Spa, we both saw a need in the community where individuals wanted to look and feel their best and we felt that, part of helping them do that, would be to provide therapies and services dedicated to that end."

Dr. Chad Burkhart, MD CCFP

Dr. Burkhart completed his undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Guelph in 1995 and his medical training at Memorial University of Newfoundland.  He then went on to complete the Residency Program at Dalhousie University in 2002.  He is a member of the Canadian Medical Association, Ontario Medical Association, Grey Bruce Rural Medical Society, Canadian College of Family Physicians and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

Both doctors are certified Botox practitioners and have trained with one of the top Botox Instructors in North America to provide exceptional results in the art and science of Botox Cosmetic.  The doctors also practice sclerotherapy for the removal of varicose and spider veins and are certified in the use of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapies and laser treatments.

While medical aesthetics play a major role at the Spa, the staff also offers a wide variety of services, that make everyone look and feel better, in a relaxing, serene environment.

Dianne Crosetta, RN

Dianne has been with Breakwater Spa Clinic for approximately four years as Director.  As a Registered Nurse (RN), she has always particularly enjoyed the complexities of procedures such as unusual and more intricate
dressings and hands-on involvement.  "I guess I saw it more as an art form," she explains.  I always wanted to be a nurse though and never even considered anything else."  Today, as an RN, she can perform laser treatments and injectables at the spa.  "When people leave feeling better about themselves, it's very rewarding."

Danielle Satin

Medical Aesthetician

Aesthetics Manager

Danielle Santin is a certified Aesthetician and skin therapist who is well versed in aspects of beauty including skin care, aromatherapy, hot stone massage and relaxation therapy.   As a practitioner for seven years, she first got involved in her last year of highschool when she did a co-op placement in the industry.  "I loved it immediately and also liked the social aspect of being with people every day and, everyone is so different with unique needs.

Becky Catto Certified Aesthetician

Becky, a Certified Aesthetician and Skin Therapist, has also taken courses in Toronto at Dermalogica and she is also a hot stone massage and relaxation massage practitioner.

While she is qualified to provide manicures, pedicures and facials, her favourite area is pedicures.  "I don't know why I like to work with feet, but I always have," she says.  "From the time I was little and used to massage my grandmother's feet, I've always known that it makes someone feel good when their feet are at their best."

Kirstin MacLeod Certified Aesthetician

Although she was born and raised in Port Elgin, Kirstin is a graduate from the Sudbury College of Aesthetics and is a certified Aesthetician.  She is experienced in all facts of esthetics but one of her favourite areas is as a make-up artist.  "I always like doing my friends' make-up and it's something that I never tire of."

Rhonda Jarmuth RMT

Rhonda has been a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) for three years.  "Therapeutic massage can actually help with many conditions such as headaches, post surgery and sports injuries.  Guests have a general sense of well-being after a session."

Crystal Sweeney

Certified Aesthetician, Crystal Sweeney, has joined Drifting Sands Spa in Southampton.

After graduation from Kincardine District Secondary School (KDSS), Crystal went on to London's Elegance School of Beauty. "I've always been interested in make-up and skin care," says Crystal, "and it's all I really wanted to do."

Today, as an aesthetician, she provides full-service aesthetics including manicures, pedicures, skin care and make-up artistry. Like every aesthetician however, she has a favourite area in which she particularly enjoys working and, for Crystal, it's facials.
