It would appear that, in its first year, the Development Charges program
was lucrative for Saugeen Shores in 2008.
More than $500,000 came in as a result of the charges ($517,248 to be
exact) with the Wal-Mart project responsible for the largest amount at
$208,408.
There were also building permits for 38 multi-family units at $2,988
each for a total of $113,544, 30 single family residential with services
at $4,000 each for $120,000, 24 two-bedroom plus multi-family at $2,580
for a total of $61,.920 and five other single family residential for a
total of $13,376.
The Town did not use any of the funds for projects in 2008 and the
monies are in reserve. (next column)
