Council Vacancy Filled

Taun Frosst

Taun Frosst was chosen by recorded vote Tuesday night, (April 14) to fill the vacancy created when Councillor Jane Barber left.

Frosst, who lives in Southampton and owns a business in Port Elgin, was selected from the eight candidates who had put their names forward. Each candidate then had to give a three-minute presentation to council on why he was running for the position on council.

By a show of hands, the vote was recorded with Frosst receiving six out of the eight possible votes.

Frosst, who ran in the 2006 election, was also Chair of the Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) and will officially take his place at the next council meeting.
