At the end of 2007, surplus funds were put into a Cenotaph Park Reserve account with the intent being that the monies would provide financial assistance to the town for the operation and maintenance of the park. The surplus dollars were to be held in trust by the Legion.

The current balance in the account is $17,672.83. It was recommended that $17,000 be transferred to the Cenotaph Park Fund under the care and control of the Legion and that the remaining $672.83 be transferred into the Park's operating budget to finance part of the cost of park maintenance and plantings for 2008.

The recommendation to transfer the funds was passed by Council at the December 22nd meeting.
