There were no bids to replace the commercial entry doors at the community centres in Ripley and Point Clark.
At the Huron-Kinloss council meeting Monday night (Sept. 21), a report from parks and recreation director Mike Fair said he solicited a quote from John Ball Carpentry. The total price for all four anodized aluminium doors, including automatic operators as required, is $24,652.09. The budget for this project was $26,000.

"It think that's too much money," said councillor Jeff Elliott.
"These doors are wickedly expensive," said councillor Jim Hanna. "That's basically what they cost."

Council accepted the quote to supply and install the new entry doors.
