Corrina Serda, the 13 year old climate change presenter who has
given 140 presentations to 24,000 people, has just returned from The
Climate Project North American Summit in Nashville. 20/05/2009 12:21 AM |
"The poorest, the weakest communities in the world are going to be
affected the worst," Pachauri said. "We need to move to a new model of
development. Lifestyle changes aren't too much to ask. Why not, if this
way of life is imposing a huge burden on the rest of the world?" he said
to applause. Now that 2,600 trained presenters around the world have taken information to an estimated 5 million people, getting strong climate legislation passed is the next step, the group said. A huge priority was placed on generating as much support and momentum as possible before this coming December's climate negotiations in Copenhagen. The event was held at the Hutton Hotel, an eco-hotel in the heart of Nashville. Corrina, along with her mother Victoria Serda, carpooled with four other Canadian presenters to minimize their environmental footprint. Corrina would like to acknowledge the donations from the Southampton and Port Elgin Rotary Clubs toward her trip.
