Saturday night was perfect for Hometown Christmas
in downtown Kincardine, provided you were bundled up nice and warm.
Santa and Mrs. Claus greeted the crowd, walking along Queen Street, and
stopped for awhile to pose for photographs with children. Meanwhile, a
group of carollers filled the air with beautiful music.
The two horse-drawn wagons were kept busy all night, jingling their way
up and down the street. And youngsters enjoyed having their photo taken
in a sleigh alongside a seven-month-old reindeer. The older reindeer
were penned nearby for people to see but not touch.
Inside, the stores were bustling with shoppers, getting some amazing
deals for Christmas gift-giving. There were plenty of treats throughout;
and at one street corner a supervised barrel fire offered some welcome
warmth.
The downtown event was sponsored by the Kincardine Business Improvement
Area (BIA).
