CFUW Southport wins Provincial Advocacy Award

Southampton--The Southport Club of the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) was awarded a Provincial Advocacy Award at the Ontario Council Annual General Meeting in Belleville recently.

Carolyn Day (left), CFUW Southport policy advisor and a past president, was presented with the Award which recognized the Club's consultative work in 2008 with Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb and MPP Carol Mitchell. The local policy makers were briefed about critical issues such as the Arbitration Act, Ontario Water Resources Act and the Species at Risk Bill.
