Karen Cameron represented the Blue Water Citizens for Education at the recent Blue Water School Board meeting held Tuesday (Apr.21).

The group, consisting of concerned parents, grandparents and citizens within the Blue Water School Board District, was recently formed to act as a collective voice over concerns surrounding education and governance within the region.

Cameron's statement to the Board and Trustees was brief but to the point expressing the concerns of the group.

"Blue Water Citizens for Education (BCforE) is a group of concerned citizens who are committed to public education that puts students first," Cameron began.

"We want to be advocates in a system that supports our children, our teachers and our Board.

We recognize that the job of a trustee is a challenging one that is often thankless. We are hopeful that trustees, collectively, will be able to come to a clear understanding of public concerns regarding education in the Blue Water Board.

The incidents addressed at the Board meeting of March 24, are not isolated.

We submit that this review process must involve the public's concerns and cannot be limited the administration's submission. Fairness demands public input."
