Sins win the competition

Among the first initiatives of the recently organized Saugeen Youth Coalition has been the Battle of the Bands.

The competition has given young local musicians the opportunity to play their music in public venues and also the chance to compete against their peers. Several groups have played throughout the summer with the final competition held at the annual Pumpkinfest at the main Bruce Telecom sponsored entertainment stage.

The play-off took place on Sunday, October 4th and, despite a cold wind and the odd rain shower, the audience enjoyed the progressive music of the final three competitors - From the Tyrrant (FAT), soloist Kevin Carey and the band Sins of Affliction. The winner was Sins of Affliction who also won $500 to put toward equipment and/or instruments.
