Now, the Kincardine resident and three others in the battalion have been honoured with awards named after them and presented to exemplary soldiers in the Canadian Special Operations Regiment, for various accomplishments. The awards will be presented each year to the successful candidates. Besides Mann, awards were named after William "Sam"
Magee of Oshawa, Herb Peppard of Nova Scotia, and John Akehurst
(deceased). |
