2009 student bursary winners for the Southampton Art School

Each year the Southampton Arts Society sponsors the awards given out to four elementary/intermediate schools in the area.

This year, eight local award winners received bursaries to attend an art class this summer with the Southampton Art School.

The students were selected from their schools and awarded for their hard work and creativity in class. This is yet another indication of the importance that art plays in education and the fostering of artistic growth in individual students.
