Like father, like son and, for John and Armen Higgins of Southampton, nothing could be more true.

Both have a passion for travel and the life experiences it brings. While the senior Higgins, John, travelled and lived extensively throughout Mexico, Armen has travelled throughout many countries including South America, India and Nepal, to name only a few.

Now, Armen, who is a chef and owns Armen's Cafe in Southampton, is bringing 'Tastes of the World' cuisine to the area. Each week, a different country or region will be featured for dinners Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Jennifer McLaughlin, who works with Armen, explains that they wanted to bring something a little different to the area. "We've surveyed people and most are very excited about the chance to taste world class cuisine right here in Southampton and, because Armen has experienced these foods first hand in the countries of their origin, he prepares them with authenticity. Devon Watton, who now works here at Armen's has also been a great help and inspiration in the meal selections."

This week, Thursday (25th) through Saturday (27th), will feature a variety of tastes from the Eastern European countries. It is a first-come, first-serve seating although they will take reservation for six or more.

Entertaining at the cottage? No problem. Bring your own dishes in and Armen will fill them with delectable world cuisine for a truly unique dining experience.

Armen's Cafe is located on High Street in Southampton and also features an upstairs outdoor deck.
