After receiving her BA in Communication Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University, Melissa started carving a life path that led her to Australia. While living in Brisbane, Queensland, she gained first hand experience in developing a fundraising project for The National Trust of Queensland; The Australian Book of Memories has proven to be a successful fundraising tool for the NTQ. Upon returning to Canada, Melissa moved into a career in print advertising, and actively remained involved in fundraising initiatives, executing campaigns for organizations such as The United Way. Like her mother, Melissa has also been a volunteer for the CMA, CCMA, and in addition, the Country Music Association of Australia, where she gained insight into the inner workings of music award events. Melissa received her certificate from CLI as a Power Coach in 2007, as well as her certificate to teach English as a second language.
