Charlie Chaplin is coming to the Roxy Theatre in Owen Sound.

The Great Lakes Musicians’ Collective will present one of Charlie Chaplin's best known silent movies, “The Kid” on October 17th.

Just as in the days of silent movies, there will be a live, original soundtrack performed by the Silent Film Ensemble along with three original opening short-films by local filmmakers.

The evening that begins at 7:00 will also feature locally grown and catered food, door prizes and an historic photo display of the movie theatres of Owen Sound.

The event is receiving not only huge interest from the community but also extensive support. Many local businesses have come to the table with their sponsorship, including, Around the Sound Local Food Market, Find it Grey-Bruce, The Owen.com, Reel Hollywood Video, the Bean Cellar, Roxy & Owen Sound Little Theatre, Fotoart, the Instant Print Shop, Fomager Music, Bayshore Broadcasting, Rocky Raccoon Cafe and the Downtown Bookstore.
