Sally Hunt

Sally Hunt, long-time Co-ordinator of Pumpkinfest in Saugeen Shores, died today, November 4th (2014).

Hunt helped develop the Pumpkinfest event over eight years into a world-class festival that went on to win awards, but today, at age 44, she succumbed to a very aggressive and incurable cancer.

The daughter of outgoing Councilor Jan Chamberlain, Hunt grew up in Owen Sound but lived for the past 13 years in Saugeen Shores with husband Rick Hunt.

She is survived by her mother, her three brothers, Michael, Brian and David, their wives, and her many nephews, nieces, cousins and will be missed by her colleagues at the Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce.

A celebration of her life will be held this Sunday, November 9th at Owen Sound's Bayshore Community Centre at 2:00 PM. where she and Rick were married.

Residents are encouraged to wear orange for her beloved Bruins and the Port Elgin Pumpkinfest.
