AREVA is hosting a charity baseball game in Kincardine to help raise money for a Port Elgin family whose child suffers from Cystinosis.
Stephanie Stanley came to Kincardine council Wednesday night (Sept. 17) to inform council of the event, slated for Thursday, Sept. 25, at Connaught Park.
AREVA has challenged Superheat and Bruce Power's Supply Chain in a small tournament to raise money for the Liv-a-Little Foundation, supporting Cystinosis Research.
Olivia Little, five-year-old daughter of Erin and Chad Little of Port Elgin, has this rare disease. Only about 2,000 people in the world have Cystinosis and there is no cure.
The Littles started a foundation, called "Liv-a-Little Foundation" to raise money for research.Community Living of Kincardine and District is holding a barbecue and bake sale at the event, as well, to help out.
The ball tournament is a rain or shine event, at the front diamond in Connaught Park.
The following is a brief itinerary:
Gates open at 5:30 p.m., and entry is by donation.
This is a licensed event and the Kincardine Cubs ball team will be running the bar.
Kincardine council endorsed the event.
