Eight members of Saugeen Shores Fire Department and a pump truck will soon be off to the town of Huntsville.

The department was the only one in Bruce-Grey to be recommended by the Ontario Fire Marshall as part of the upcoming G8 Summit to be held in that community June 23 to 26.

"We have the training, experience and background to provide back-up service," said Chief Phil Eagleson at Council Monday night, "and still be able to cover our own fire and EMS needs here in Saugeen Shores."

The town of Huntsville will be paying $38,400  for the assistance and, after expenses of $12,400,  a revenue of $26,000 will be realized.

"We still haven't chosen which eight members/volunteers will be going," added Eagleson, "but that will be done shortly."
