The Brick by Brick Campaign to help build a school in another country

Buy a Brick campaign underway ... anyone is welcome to participate at $10/brick

As "Leaders of Change", Port Elgin's Saugeen Central School students have undertaken a number of initiatives to try and help others in disadvantaged countries and, on Earth Day, the entire school turned out to celebrate their achievements.

The students undertook several fundraising  initiatives throughout the year to help others.  From the 'Vow of Silence, the Cupcake Sale, the Penny Drive and the Buy a Brick campaigns, the students raised more than $6,000 of their $8,500 goal.

Part of the fundraising achievements also belonged to individual students who decided to "make a difference".  Instead of regular birthday parties, they had their friends bring Food Bank donations and others had money donated to different school fundraisers.
