Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and dinner at the Lakeshore Recreation Centre Thursday evening.

Approximately 150 local business owners and employees attended the dinner-meeting that also featured a silent auction.

Neil Aitchison always uses humour

Guest speaker, Neil Aitchison, known as the 'Canadian Loonie', is a popular speaker, M.C., actor, former broadcast executive and radio pesonality.

Born in Harriston, Ontario, Aitchison was the first graduate of Conestoga College in Kitchener, and now lives in Waterloo with his wife, Helen. Today, he is also the Senior Manager of Market Development for Melloul-Blamey Construction, one of Ontario’s largest and most diversified construction firms.

Aitchison, who has summered in the Port Elgin area for many years, says that, "... if merchants can maintain the summer-like attitude they have, all year round, it will just make this community a better place to live, shop and spend money."  He demonstrates  how anyone, through humour, can cope with life's constant changes and stress.
