(Southampton ON) A unique and informative opportunity awaits anyone who is interested in Theism, Atheism, Ethics, and the Problem of Evil. Actually that is the name of the upcoming four-week lecture and discussion starting May 5, 2010 at the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre. All lectures are from 10am to 12 noon and members are FREE. Public is $30 for all four lectures or $10 per lecture.

Art Grady, who is living in this area and has renowned experience and education in the field of philosophy, will lead the lecture and discussions. Mr. Grady has a BA-Philosophy from University of Saskatchewan and a MA-Theology, St. John's University, Minn. MEd- Counselling Psychology (with teaching certificate), Gannon College. He presently has many volunteer projects on the go so the Museum is pleased to have him available for this special series.

Wednesday May 5, 2010  Faith, Religion & Spirituality - What is the purpose of faith and spirituality? Can Religion and Science be reconciled? What can we learn from the Dalai Lama about this?

Wednesday May 12, 2010  Atheism and Agnosticism - Proofs or ways to God. Types of atheism (anti religion, philosophical-ideological atheism). Can we talk to each other about these irreconcilable positions.

Wednesday May 19, 2010  Moral Perspectives – Did the dropping of the atom bomb change our ethics forever? Bioethics; is science getting ahead of ethics? Is our ethical systems simply out of date?

Wednesday May 26, 2010  The Problem of Evil – Definition of Evil, micro vs. marco, causes or development of evil, cycle of evil and retribution. Who are the “evil doers”? Breaking the cycle.
