Students were singing, dancing, and performing drama at Elgin Market Public School's "Celebration of the Arts" spring concert held Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning at the school. The Kindergarten class mesmerized the audience with the hilarious song, "Down By the Bay," followed by an energetic version of "One, Two, Buckle My Shoe." Other grades sang and danced. The Senior Kindergarten and Grade 1 class was decked out in Hawaiian grass skirts for its dance number. And the Grade 1 class offered a drama production, "The Great Kapok Tree," with wonderful depictions of all the animals in the rain forest. There was more rhythm and song, in English and French, plus a performance by students on recorders. The grand finale saw everyone on stage for a rendition of "Boom Dee Ya Da."
