Huron-Kinloss chief building official Matt Farrell has been busy.

His report for April indicated a huge jump in the number of permits, as well as the construction value, with the year-to-date figures almost double for permits and more than triple for construction value.

Farrell said last night (May 3) that 32 building permits were issued for April, with a construction value of $4.2 million.

Of those, 12 were for new houses, and another was for a four-plex being built by Gary Rutledge beside the Ripley Curling Club. The four-plex is valued at $400,000.
