Agnes and Bill Folmer of Chepstow spent the day on Sunday with Marilyn and Don Reid. Deanna Scott attended a family shower in Listowel for Darlene Currie Hartung's son's fiance. Many of the ladies from the area attended the 4 C's conference at Jackson's Point this weekend. Maureen and Roy Collins visited with Shirley Gilders of Clinton and Ray Gilders of Goderich during the week. Seems this is the crunch time for the university and college students with their final exams and papers. Keep up the good work, students. It is good to see that some of our other students have finished their exams and are home again. The Martins and the Finnies were honored at a special mass for their upcoming 25th wedding anniversaries. For the Finnies, it was extra special as Judy and Sam Finnie will be celebrating their 50th anniversary this year. Mary Black and Betty Scott had supper with Mary Anne Kukoly Thursday evening to celebrate Mary's 87th birthday. Also joining in were Judy, Wayne and Joe Murray and Matt Black. Mary Anne visited with Joyce McEwan and Mary Beth Kerr on Sunday. The Women's Institute Rose Program has had a date change to April 30. It will still be held at the Purple Grove Community Centre at 2 p.m. sharp. Sympathy from the community goes to Meg and Will Van Rooyen and their family on the death of their daughter and sister, Ruth. She spent some of her growing up years in the Purple Grove Community and will be missed. The 4-H Conservation club's first meeting is on April 27 at 7:30 p.m., at the Purple Grove Community Centre. Please contact Anne MacInnes for more information. Sympathy is extended to the family of Pat Mead of Ripley whose funeral was on Monday.
