Funny I thought the school board hired a highly experienced
Communications Coordinator?
Oh wait they did indeed….
So the only conclusions the public can surmise by this latest
communications faux pas is that:
a) the poor man has his work cut out for him - if his bosses aren’t
allowing him to do his job on promoting and publicizing these kind of
meetings.
b) Board staff aren’t organized enough to give their Communications
Coordinator enough lead time to get the word out.
c) The Board is not following their communications expert's sage advice
after nine months on the job on how to improve communication with
parents, the media and the public on these kind of events and PR gaffes.
How frustrating for him to read letters like this.
But more importantly….
How embarrassing for the School Board to seem to have the foresight to
hire a professional communicator to be on staff, and still be making
headlines like this…
