Fire in Port Elgin May 15th, 2010 |

On Saturday May 15th at
05:31 the Saugeen Shores Fire Department responded to a report
of a fully involved house fire at 495 Bluewater Dr. in Port
Elgin. Upon arrival fire crews discovered the adjacent home to
be on fire also. Five buildings closest to the fire sustained
moderate damage caused by radiant heat. Firefighters were
successful in quickly containing the spread of the fire and
prevented the loss of any other residences. 29 firefighters and
5 fire apparatus from both Saugeen Shores Fire Stations
responded quickly.

The cause of the fire is currently under
investigation. The Saugeen Shores Fire Department, the Ontario Fire
Marshal’s Office, and the Saugeen Shores Police Service are continuing
