First of all, we extend a huge thank you to all those who have helped in keeping our Fairs successful.  A Bruce County Beef Barbecue is planned for Saturday, July 24. Our directors will be selling a limited number of tickets. Details to follow.

If you would like your new seeded hay or established hay crops judged, contact Jim Young at 519-368-7177. Our Fair books are hot off the press. Watch for yours in the mail. The local stores will have a supply later on. The theme this year is "Fall Leaves and Corn Sheaves".

The Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies held its annual Spring Meeting in Desboro on May 1 with 103 in attendance including 23 Junior and Senior Ambassadors. Three of our members and our Ambassador, Cynthia Wickert, enjoyed a great day. Guest speaker Bill Murdoch, MPP, Grey-Bruce-Owen Sound, spoke about the HST and other interesting topics pertaining to our area. Hannah Weppler of Tara, Olympic Torch Bearer for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, presented a very informative talk and slide presentation on her experience as one of the runners in Hanover.

Our new website will be up and running soon.

Final thought - our 150th Fall Fair is in October, 2011. Plans are under way. If you have any old Fair Books or memorabilia pertaining to the Tiverton Fall Fair, contact Doreen at 519-368-7768.
