MAN CHARGED IN VEHICLE THEFT
(SAUBLE BEACH, ON.)
– A 19-year-old man has been charged with multiple criminal offences after he was arrested with a stolen pick-up truck early Saturday morning. The Sauble Beach resident was observed by police backing the truck across the front lawn of a business on Sauble Falls Parkway in Sauble Beach. The officer tried to stop the vehicle by activating the cruiser roof lights. The young man fled and eventually put the truck in the ditch of a side street in Sauble. He fled into a wooded area but returned to the truck a short time later giving himself up.

Charged with two counts of possession of stolen property, fleeing police, dangerous driving and impaired driving with breath readings over twice the legal limit is Kristopher PARISIEN of Sauble Beach, Ontario. Parisien was held in custody and will appear in Owen Sound Bail Court Monday.

SUMMER HAS ARRIVED
(BRUCE PENINSULA, ON.)
- It seems summer has arrived for officers of Bruce Peninsula OPP. As summer temperatures rise, so do the number of calls that are made for police service. Over the past weekend police investigated 7 noise and 8 traffic complaints, 9 liquor matters, 5 calls regarding trouble with youth and 2 minor mischiefs. A cottage break-in was reported on Sunset Drive in the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula. Liquor and beer were taken in that entry.

Police calls increase dramatically as traffic, tourist volume and seasonal residents return to the area. On average, Bruce Peninsula OPP receives approximately three times the rate of calls during the summer as during the winter months. With the increased traffic in the area, remember to take extra care and drive defensively.
