The weather cooperated as the 22nd Annual Rotary Huron Shoreline Run was even more successful this year as it surpassed its target.

More than 300 participants took part and raised $29,000, exceeding the goal of $25,000.

Cyclists, walkers, roll  bladers and runners all took part in making the annual run  the most successful ever.  Several fundraising targets included:  the 'banking challenge' with Scotiabank raising $4,404 and CIBC raising $ 715 and the medical challenge with Bruce County Physiotherapy raising $945.

Several individuals also fundraised considerable amounts:   Gerry Walker $280 Carol MacCaulay $300; Fran Sanagan $305; Chris Poole $340; Wendy Putnam $410; Crystal Root $489; Natalie Sidham $500; Paul Schendel $605.

Shawn Thompson, who has individually raised the most money over the past several years, once again came out on top with dollars raised at $3,057.

"It's a really worthwhile effort," said Thompson. "I know that some people may tire of me asking for money, but it's a very important cause for the community and we all have to work toward supporting it. [hospital foundation & Rotary]
