Despite it beginning a rainy day, Bruce County Tourism held its launch of Explore the Bruce Passport Program on Wednesday and, as happens every year, several teams get to explore Bruce County.

Rain didn't dampen the spirits of those at the Adventure launch

Among those  in the tent were Walkerton's Mayor Charlie Bagnato and Wiarton's Mayor Gwen Gilbert

The teams, randomly selected, got to drive in a new Toyota from Walkerton Toyota on what's been termed an adult scavenger hunt.

Politicians, business owners and the media got the  chance to visit, for the most part, places in Bruce County that many had not seen before.

James Carter of Toyoto was the official 'puncher' for the team, the Phantom Force' with Marijo Lamont (R) & Lynda Cain (C)

At each location, the passports of the team must be 'hole-punched' each in a different shape as proof that the team has in fact been at a specific location.

The exploration takes approximately 2 1/2 hours to complete, following which the teams returned to Walkerton Toyota for a mass BBQ cooked by world famous BBQ chef, Ted Reader.

Reader has most recently entered the 'World's Largest Hamburger' to the Guiness World Book of records.  He cooked the burger at Yonge & Dundas Square in Toronto on May 5 and it weighed in at approximately 590 lbs.: patty 307 lbs. 48 " across x 8" thick; bun over 100 lbs.; 35 lbs. lettuce; 35 lbs onion; 35 lbs. tomatoes 35 lbs. of Strubs pickles; two kinds of cheese and a case of Crazy Canuck BBQ sauce.  It took Reader ix hours to cook the burger on a Napolean grill that he designed and then the burger was auctioned off for his charity, Camp Bucko, Burn Camp for Kids raising $7500 to take kids, who have suffered severe burns, to summer camp for one week..
