Mens' Golf News
Derryl Urstadt is burning up the course these days. He shot a one over par
36 to win first low gross in the A-flight on Thursday night and also won the
Closest to the Hole competition on the fifth hole.  Ron Caudle took the
first low net award in the flight.
 
In the B-flight, Steve Green had a great night, shooting a sizzling 41 to
win first low gross, while Bruce MacGregor, who is finally back on the links
after a break, proved that his game hasn't lost anything shooting a 43 and
taking first low net with a net score of 34.  In the C-flight, Mike
Fitzmaurice had a good round, shooting 43 and winning first low gross.
Woody Norwood won first low net with a net score of 34.
 
In the D-flight, Bill Streeter shot a lights-out round of 46 to win first
low gross.  Jef Schel won first low net with a net score of 34.  Russ
Solomway sunk the longest putt on the first hole.
 
Senior Mens' Golf News
 
Derryl Urstadt continues to play steady golf, as he won first low gross in
the A-flight this week in Senior Mens' Golf action.  Urstadt shot an even 80
to dominate his flight, which was reserved for players with handicaps of 11
to 20.  Dan Lazenby is in the winners' circle again this week, winning
second low gross in the A-flight with an 83.  Paul Holk, whose game has
improved steadily over the past few weeks won first low net with a net score
of 68 while Mike Pitzen took second low net with a net score of 69.
In the B-flight, for handicaps 21 through 25, Bill Thomson had a great score
of 87 to win first low gross while the steady Don Foell took second low
gross with a score of 90.  Tom Bailey had a great round of 90 and won first
low net with a net score of 67.  Don Hill took second low net with a net
score of 71.  In the C-flight, for players with handicaps 26 and above, John
Upper had a hot game scoring a 95 and easily winning first low gross in the
flight.  George Matheson had an even score of 100 to win second low gross.
The dependable George Wilson won first low net with a net score of 68 while
Don White took second low net with a net score of 74.
 
Paul Holk won the Closest to the Pin competition on the fifth hole for the
second week in a row while Al Cruickshank won the same contest on #13.

Ladies Invitational Tournament
 
Chippewa Golf and Country Club held its annual Ladies Invitational
Tournament on Monday, June 14 and there was some excellent golf played.  The
field was divided into four flights, and players from many local and distant
golf clubs took part in the event.
 
The overall winner of the tournament was Sandra White from Owen Sound with a
great score of 82.  Chris Evans was the low net winner with a net score of
66.
 
Congratulations to both ladies.
 
In the A-flight, Chris McCrae won first low gross with a fine round of 86,
just one stroke ahead of Elaine Bossence, who won first low net in the
flight with a net score of 69.  In the b-flight, Lynn Grant won first low
gross with a score of 99, while Chippewa member Sandi Sisko won first low
net with a net score of 78.

Betty Ross, also a Chippewa member, won first low gross in the C-flight with
a score of 97, while Edna tower took first low net with a net score of 77.
Collette LePage won first low gross in the D-flight with a 106, while Audrey
Carter from Chippewa won first low net with a net score of 74.
 
Betty Ross won the Closest to the Pin competition on the fifth hole, and
Collette LePage took the prize for the same contest on #18.  Lynn Grant sunk
the Longest Putt on the ninth hole.
