Lucknow Central Public School students were among the top in Bruce and Grey counties for turning off the screens. 

Turn off the Screens Week is a challenge all students in Grey and Bruce take part in. 

This year, 1,200 students participated. Lucknow Central was the third top participating school.

According to the Grey Bruce Health Unit, many students accumulated 30 hours of physical activity by turning off the television, computer and video games. 

Statistics from Active Healthy Kids Canada indicate that 87 per cent of youth are not meeting physical activity requirements. Many spend four to six hours per day in front of a screen.
