The Kincardine Peewee hockey team made history by winning the all-Ontario finals as well as the International Silver Stick in Port Huron, Michigan. The team received plaques from the Municipality of Kincardine Wednesday night (June 2), in recognition of this achievement. Mayor Larry Kraemer presented the plaques to each hockey player and to the coaching staff. Coach Lou Battaino thanked the municipality for the plaques and noted that the team constantly represented Kincardine well in all tournaments. "We accomplished a lot this year," he said. "We won the all-Ontario and the International Silver Stick. No other team has won both in the same year."
