The South Bruce Grey Health Centre opened its doors to the public at its Chesley and Durham sites earlier this month to highlight the great work of staff, physicians, foundations and auxiliaries.

Open houses were held at the Chesley site on June 7 and the Durham site on June 16.

“We are really pleased with the efforts of each of our departments in showcasing its work, and also with the positive feedback we have received from the public,” says Brenda Rantz, vice-president of corporate development and labour relations.

“We have great staff who are very passionate and enthusiastic about the care they provide, which I think was evident. This was also a great opportunity for us to highlight the equipment that our supporting foundations have donated in recent years. We are very grateful for their continued support and I think it is very meaningful for the community to see their donations at work.”

Staff and the public were also given the opportunity to sample foods from two of health centre’s potential new food suppliers and provide their feedback.

“Overall the feedback was very positive,” says Rantz. “Comment cards were available for people
to provide their opinion on the taste and quality of the food. I think people were pleasantly surprised.”

The health centre is in the process of arranging public taste testings at the Kincardine and Walkerton sites for early in July.
