It was a beautiful, sunny day Thursday (June 10) - perfect weather for a Summer Fun Day at Elgin Market Public School in Kincardine.

Organized by Alex Gurbin and Kaylie Wolfe, with the help of their high school, university and college friends, and the staff at the school, the day became a Treasure Hunt, with a one-eyed Pirate who has stolen the treasure and a Traveller looking for clues to find it.

The students played several games, ran through an obstacle course, created some artwork and built hotels in a constant quest for clues to help the Traveller. Once they had gathered the clues, they discovered the clues were written in hieroglyphics. So, they had to put them in a Clue-o-matic to find out where the treasure was.

"It's a lot of fun this year because it's sunny out," said Kaylie. "The kids are explorers and each activity is from a different country - Italy, Cuba, Jamaica, South Africa - so the people running the activities are all dressed up too. We all have a really great time."
