District Senior Games 5-Pin Bowling

Congratulations to the local team representing Kincardine in the District Senior Games 5-Pin Bowling event held in Owen Sound on June 17. First-place honours go to Mel and Shirley Lyons, Jean and Gord McDonald, and Ted Penny!

Fun Aerobics

Have fun and improve your endurance at the same time throughout different types of aerobic exercise. Improve muscle strength and increase flexibility! In this new class you will work up a sweat, push out stress and have a blast! The next session begins July 7 and runs Wednesday nights, 7-8 p.m., in the West Room of the new addition at the Davidson Centre.

Canada Day Activities

Be sure to participate in the Municipality of Kincardine’s Canada Day celebrations on July 1. There will be a Canada Day Parade and Ceremony in the morning. The afternoon will be full of family activities at Macpherson Park. There will be prizes available for children at the penny carnival, plus food vendors, and lots of entertainment. The Bruce County Blues has made it possible to have The 10 O’Clock Band and Brontae Hunter perform! There will also be a performance by children’s entertainer Dickie Bird and two “Discover the World of Reptiles” shows complete with a 15-foot Python and American Alligator! As always you will want to take in the Fireworks off the Pier at the Harbour around dusk. Look for posters around town, or check out the municipal website for more information.

Lawn Bowling

Every Monday and Thursday evening at 6:45 p.m., come down to Lambton Street by the lake for lawn bowling. Try a new sport!  For more information call Linda at 519-396-8418.

Youth Night Out

Are you in Grade 5,6,7,8,9 or 10?  Do you like free food, swimming and to have fun?  Then come to the Davidson Centre Tuesday, June 29, at 6 p.m.  Summer Recreation Staff will be supervising the youth while they eat, swim, and play active games. Did we mention it was FREE!?!?  This program will continue to run every Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. until the end of August. Some evenings will have a guest speaker who will give advice or inform the youth on various topics.

Summer Sing-A-Long

Join us this Sunday, July 4, at 7:30 p.m. at Dunsmoor Park for a very special sing-a-long with great entertainment. Margaret Shoesmith and Friends will be performing a great line-up along with the regular sing-a-long. Featured are Rad Michielson on guitar and vocals, Jennifer McCallum on piano, and Margaret Shoesmith on vocals. Interactive children's classics, old-time favourites, and dancing tunes will make this a great evening for young and old! Don't forget to bring your lawn chairs and/or blankets.
