Over the course of the past year, eight-year-old Nathan Troke of Kincardine has been collecting used eyeglasses as part of the "Who is Nobody?" project at Elgin Market Public School.

The project required him to do something to help another living thing, be it a human being, an animal or the environment.

Nathan heard about the Lions Club's Recycle For Sight program which donates used pairs of glasses to those less fortunate, and began collecting glasses from his schoolmates, friends, and their families.

On Tuesday, the Kincardine Lions Club invited Nathan and his mom, Krista, to the meeting where he officially donated what he had collected - a whopping 79 pairs of glasses - an outstanding accomplishment, particularly for such a young person.

If anyone else has more used glasses that they wish to donate to the Lions Recycle For Sight Program, they can contact any club member who will ensure the glasses get to the right place.
