Fire in Southampton

On Thursday July 1^st at 05:46 the Saugeen Shores Fire Department received a report of a house fire at 335 Cole Blvd. in Southampton.

Upon arrival, fire crews discovered the second storey of the home to be on fire. The 18 firefighters and three fire apparatus from the Southampton Fire Station responded quickly and were successful in containing the fire to the upper floor of the home and preventing any further loss.

The fire is believed to have started in an unoccupied upstairs bedroom.  One male occupant was alone in the home at the time of the fire.  No injuries were sustained by the occupant.  The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
