Busy weekend for Bruce OPP

SEADOOERS PULLED FROM WATER
(SAUBLE BEACH, ON.) – Two men were pulled from the waters of Sauble Beach late Saturday afternoon after they fell from a rented personal watercraft.  The two men from Brampton and Alliston had rented the watercraft and were due back at Sauble at 4:30 pm.  When they did not return, a rental employee went out to search for the men.  A short time later the watercraft was spotted without it’s riders, drifting about 3 kms from Sauble Beach.  The watercraft was towed back to the beach and police were called.  While search efforts were being organized, a boat coming north from Kincardine happened upon the men floating about 1 km from shore.  The men were pulled aboard and taken to Sauble Beach where they were taken by ambulance to the Wiarton Hospital for observation.

IMPAIRED DRIVER
(HEPWORTH, ON.) – A 42-year-old Scarborough man will appear in Owen Sound Court charged with Impaired Driving and Careless Driving.  Police received a traffic complaint about a vehicle heading north on Hwy. 6 towards Hepworth.  Officers observed the vehicle in Hepworth and stopped it.  The driver was found to have been drinking and a road side breath test was conducted.  The man was arrested and transported to Wiarton where he provided breath samples over the legal limit.  Charged is Jayarajah POOPALARAJAH of Scarborough.

Two others received 3 day drivers licence suspensions after providing breath readings in the warn category.  A woman, age 37, from Cape Croker and a man, age 27, from Brampton both had their vehicles towed. 

GENERAL
(BRUCE PENINSULA, ON.) – Bruce Peninsula OPP reports another busy weekend on the peninsula.  Over 100 calls for service were reported to police. 

A canoe was reported stolen from the 300 block of Bruce Road 13 north of Port Elgin. The canoe is described as a faded red in colour with “Canadian” written at both ends.

A business in the 600 block of Main St. in Sauble Beach was broken into by forcing the door.  Nothing appears to be taken.

$3,000.00 worth of lumber was taken from a construction site on Waugh’s Rd.

A 31-year-old Brighton man was charged with Racing after he was clocked on radar travelling at 124 km/h in a 50km/h zone.  The man’s drivers licence was suspended for 7 days and his motorcycle was impounded for 7 days as well.
