DRINKING DRIVERS, A ROADWAY SAFETY CONCERN
(SAUBLE BEACH, ON.) – Drinking and driving continues to be an ongoing safety concern for both police and the public.  Over the weekend Bruce Peninsula OPP charged 3 persons with drinking and driving offences.

The first person was stopped on Lakeshore Blvd. in Sauble Beach for not wearing his seatbelt.  The driver was found to have been drinking.  Breath tests showed the man had two and a half times the legal limit of alcohol in his system.  Charged is Jarrad Brian, age 23, of Burford Ontario.  Brian will appear in Owen Sound Court on August 26th.

The second person was found in a motor vehicle at 9:00 am Sunday on Saugeen First Nation.  He will appear in Walkerton Court on August 30th.  Charged with Impaired Driving is Gary Mason, age 34, of Saugeen First Nation. 

The third person, Barton Kewageshig, age 49, of Saugeen First Nation  was found exiting a motor vehicle on Cameron Dr. on the First Nation Territory.  Kewageshig was found to have been drinking and provided breath samples at two and one half times the legal limit.  He is scheduled to attend court in Walkerton August 30th.

GENERAL
(BRUCE PENINSULA, ON.) – Bruce Peninsula OPP reports responding to 92 calls for service including 11 noise complaints, 8 liquor matters and 8 traffic complaints.  Two motor vehicle collisions were investigated, both were minor in nature.  Several complaints regarding suspicious persons were investigated.  In one case an intoxicated male was arrested and later released.

DODGE CHARGER STOLEN

(KINCARDINE, ON.) – The South Bruce OPP are looking for a Dodge Charger that was taken from a residence along Concession 10, Huron Township between 10:30 pm on July 18th, 2010 and 6:00 am on July 19th, 2010.  The vehicle is described as a Dark green 2006 Dodge Charger 4 door bearing Ontario licence AKNR 669.  Anyone with information on this theft or the stolen car is asked to call the South Bruce OPP or Crime Stoppers.  The South Bruce OPP would like to remind vehicle owners, “When the vehicle is parked, lock it and pocket the keys”.

ATV TAKEN FROM LOCKED SHED

(KINCARDINE, ON.) – The South Bruce OPP are looking for an ATV that was taken from a locked shed at a residence along Concession 10, Carrick Township.  Sometime between 11:00 pm on July 17th, 2010 and 5:00 am on July 18th, 2010, the locked shed was forcibly entered and the ATV was taken.  The stolen ATV is Green 2001, 350 cc Honda CFM bearing Ontario licence 12PA1.  Anyone with information on this theft or the stolen ATV is asked to call the South Bruce OPP or Crime Stoppers.

FARMER’S FIELD DAMAGED

(KINCARDINE, ON.) – On July 18th, 2010 at 8:30 am, the South Bruce OPP received a mischief report at a residence along Concession 7, Kincardine Township.  Some time during the overnight hours of July 17th/July 18th, 2010 a motor vehicle was driven through the corn field causing damage to the crop.  The damage is currently estimated at $100.00.  Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the South Bruce OPP or Crime Stoppers.  The South Bruce OPP are sending a caution for vehicle drivers.  “Driving on someone’s property without their permission is trespassing which can result in an immediate fine of $65.00 or a summons to court can be issued where the maximum fine is $2,000.00”.
