The article below appears to be news to the Muskoka people, but it’s old news for Kincardinites.

The Friends of the Kincardine Hospital will continue to challenge this form of out-sourcing which we have suffered for years.

Muskoka Algonquin Health Care still waiting to hear about funding request

Monday, July 26 - Muskoka Algonquin Health Care (MAHC) continues to wait to hear if it will be injected with funding from the Local Health Integration Network.

MAHC has requested $6-million over two years to help tackle its deficit which will sit at close to $10-million at the end of the fiscal year.

Barry Monaghan, interim chief executive officer for MAHC, says word on the funding could come in the next few weeks.

One issue the local health organization is moving forward with is a possible partnership with Mississauga-based Trillium Health Centre. That partnership would see MAHC management services out-sourced to Trillium.

While Monaghan said the transition wouldn't result in immediate job losses, he couldn't promise that for the future.
