Heritage Propeller Club holds draw for carvings

The Propeller Club and Marine Heritage Society held a draw for four handcrafted items on Monday, August 2.

Colby and Paisley Warren make sure tickets are well stirred

The group is the maintenance and fundraising arm for the Chantry Island Lighthouse project and the draw included four prizes by master carver, Pat Thorne of Southampton.

The draw was made by current Marine Heritage President, Dick Smith at the Chantry Tour Base located at Southampton Harbour.

The Bluenose

1st Prize:  The Bluenose - Carl Crymble of Southampton

2nd Prize: Handcrafted Rocking Horse - Doug Thomas of Toronto

3rd Prize: Wall hanging of 'Ducks in Flight' - Betty Kurck of Southampton

4th Prize: Canada Goose - Gerry Stevenson of Saugeen Shores

The group raised approximately $2,500 from the draw.
