In this week’s action, back at Chippewa, the format was a four-man scramble, as is the custom on the last Thursday of each month. Teams are made up on players with handicaps from all four handicap groups, and play a best ball game with the requirement that each player must use at least one drive during the nine holes. There was also a different twist to the game, as players had to use the blue tees except for those with higher handicaps, who were able to tee off from the shorter red tees. In first place, with a four under par 31 on the front nine was the team captained by Brian Acton with Aaron Mahon, Bill Berry and Terry Morgan. Two teams were tied for second place with team scores of 32. Sharing the spoils was the team captained by Bruce Towner with Bruce MacGregor, Gord Shular and bill Richards and the team captained by Jerry Thomson with Peter Quigley, Mike Fitzmaurice and George Wilson.
