The 10th annual SuperWalk for Parkinsons will be held Sunday, Sept. 12, at Victoria Park, Kincardine. Registration is at 1 p.m., with opening ceremonies at 1:45 p.m., and the walk begins at 2 p.m. Participants can walk a two-kilometre or five-kilometre route. This year's entertainment will be provided by the "10 o'clock Band," and Mike Brough of 98 The Beach in Port Elgin, will be the MC for the event. Special recognition will be given to teams participating, and as usual, there will be a barbecue. Walkers will be eligible for T-shirts (while they last, with $50 in pledges) and draw prizes. Please bring your own lawn chair. The ever-popular silent auction is again being held. Last year's event raised $19,000 for research, education, advocacy and support services. The walk is a great way for families to spend an enjoyable afternoon. Pledge forms can be downloaded at www.superwalk.com, or picked up at Meridian Credit Union, Fincher's, Miller Insurance, BMO, Royal Bank, Herbal Magic, McKechnie Pharmacy, or Gordon Pharmasave.
