Ron Coristine's campaign slogan is "Our Community - Together."

"It is essential that those elected see themselves as stewards of the people," he says. "I will bring my love of this community, my experience with municipal issues and my background in strategic planning to the council table."

He said the community is home to many talented and dedicated people who can move forward more effectively when they do things in partnership with one another.  

"Silos are good for grain storage but working in them is not suitable for building our community," he says. "If elected, I will work for the formation of a partnership table of local economic and business groups. We can do more, do it better and avoid duplicating efforts if we develop an integrated economic development strategy.”

Coristine has a well-developed platform which covers five important areas of sustaining our community. Coristine’s community work over the years includes service with the Kincardine CHAT committee (Community, Heritage, Arts and Tourism), past-president of “To the Point” Toastmasters, Kincardine and District Minor Soccer, Rotary Club of Kincardine, Kincardine Labyrinth Peace Garden, Amnesty International Bruce Chapter, Alzheimer Society of Grey Bruce, Kincardine ad hoc remuneration committee, Habitat for Humanity and Kincardine Scottish Festival volunteer.  He is also a member of the Kincardine and District Chamber of Commerce.

Ron Coristine

During his career, he has worked with many committees, boards of directors and planning groups at the local, county, regional and provincial levels.  He has been employed with local government, the Government of Ontario, the private sector and human services.  

Coristine, who holds a Master of Public Administration in Municipal Government, is the Principal of Coristine & Associates Consulting, a strategic management firm that works with many organizations across Ontario.
