Ron Boulton wants to offer common-sense solutions to the problems facing the Municipality of Kincardine, which is why he is running for the position of Ward 1 councillor in the Oct. 25 municipal election.

"I feel I have a lot to contribute to our great community," he says. "The next four years will be difficult times as more and more downloads will be coming from the province, and money will be tight. We must have a council that works together with a clear vision of where we are going and how to get there."

Fiscal responsibility will be his number one priority. "We must keep our tax increases as reasonable as possible," he says. "We must also continue in the recruitment and retention of our physicians and support the Friends of the Kincardine Hospital in whatever way possible to ensure our hospital does not lose any more services and is a vibrant facility in our community."

Boulton has served on the planning and building committee for the past four years and sits on the executive of the Kincardine Bulldogs Hockey Club. He is also the "colour man," announcing the Bulldogs home games on 95.5 myFM Radio.

He and his wife, Fran, have lived in Ward 1 for 34 years and been blessed with three children and four grandchildren.

"Being semi-retired and with my experience of 30 years working in the municipal field, I know the time and effort required to fulfill the duties of a councillor in Ward 1," says Boulton. "I am ready, willing and ale to represent the residents of Ward 1 to the best of my ability."
