Congratulations to all the young married couples - the Arnolds, Liddles, Moultons to name a few. The community and family showers were well attended. Mary Anne was pleased to attend the couples shower for Kari Fry and Nick Sneider at the home of Claudia and Bryan Derksen.

Shirley, Doug and Alexander MacDonald went to Tara recently to meet Shirley's new great-niece, Madelaine Elizabeth Marie Lawton, and had a great visit.

Ladies Night at the Farmers Diner was well attended and enjoyed by everyone.

Bobby Jo Smith and family and friends from the Kitchener area all visited with her parents, Sandy and Sean Gander, on the long weekend. Also visiting were Sean and Colin Gander of Kitchener.

Get well wishes are sent to Bob Emmerson and Helen McGregor and all the folks in the Kincardine Hospital. Also to folks who recovering at home.

Bette MacLeod enjoyed a good visit with her grandson, Robert of Mississauga, on the holiday Monday.  Tuesday, she entertained the Purple Grove Bible Study, and on Wednesday, Bette attended the Hospital Retirees lunch.

 

The Olympia 4-H calf show was held on Aug. 2 with 146 4-H'ers and their project animals in attendance. Mike Weir was the judge. Many area 4-H Clubs were there including all the Ripley Dairy Club. Congratulations to all the young people participating in this show and to the sponsors and organizers - the Lucknow 4-H Dairy Club - for this elite dairy show.

The Ripley area 4-H members were at the Agriculture Building in Walkerton for the Grey-Bruce Judging Competition on Wednesday evening.

Dianne and Wayne Orr of Holstein visited with Mary Anne Kukoly on the long weekend. Mary Anne visited recently with Nancy Greenwood and Ruth McCosh in Goderich.
