The sale of Kincardine Cable to Rogers Communications will bring enhanced services to customers, says owner Bryan Walden.

"It will affect customers in a positive way," he said. "Rogers has a better selection of services and a sophisticated technical department. It will be able to offer high-quality, reliable service for many years to come."

He said Rogers is a premiere cable system in Canada with some of the best cable minds in the country.

"I think our customers will be very happy and pleased with the service, selection and choice of Rogers Cable," said Walden.

He refused to comment on why he sold the business or the price, saying that is confidential.

Walden will remain on contract with Rogers for the next few months during the transition period to make sure things go smoothly.

"Our customers have received good service for many years since I've been here," he said. "We want to ensure that Rogers knows how things operate so the quality of service only goes up."

Sara Holland, communications manager for the Western Region of Rogers, made the announcement Aug. 5.

"As a family-owned company with deep Ontario roots, we are committed to continuing our proud tradition of serving local communities and bringing Rogers reliability and innovative technologies to customers," she said.

"We understand that customers value reliable communications and entertainment, and we will continue to provide the community of Kincardine with an extended selection of full service solutions that deliver simplicity, quality and value."
